Ngati Moki Marae

EOTC...

Today I was working on an activity on EOCT, I chose the activity based on the Ngati Moki Marae and I answerd these questions.

Here is what I did and here are my answers:



Ngāti Moki Marae and Cath Brown

Questions:


1) Where did Cath Brown grow up? What roles did she hold?
-Cath brown grew up in Taumutu,
- she held the role of “chair of te Taumutu Runanga and Upoko, at Ngati Moki Marae.


2) What type of art did Cath make? How do you know she was successful at it? She
made
weaving art, she was successful because it is a big reason why she
  • became well known around New Zealand.


3) Where is the marae located? What does the land around it look like?
-Ngati Moki Marae is located at Taumutu, on the quiet shores of Te Waihora. Down a
path there, it will lead to a beach.


4) What does mahinga kai mean? What do you think they ate?
-It means “ food source “. It could be something like


5) What is Ngāti Moki Marae built on?
It was replaced by a earlier structure that stood on the same site.


6) What is the Awhitu House?

It is used for things like family gatherings and was residents of success.

    I am so excited to see your blog up and running and to read your work. Your marae questions look great, however, I wonder if you can have another look and make sure they are not running off the page.
