Whats happening -          
reping scene - 2 tributs selected to compete in the Hunger Games

- in the capital, katniss and peta just getting off the train, have never been there before
Whats happening in the arena of the hunger games -
Describe costumes -
- light colours, neatral tones, old fashioned, simple,
- boys - dress shirts, pants or shorts                             --------- formal / sunday best
- girls - hair tidy, dresses or skirts
- colours - cold, clean, folded - wahed and worn alot
- older clothes mended
- bright, colourful, neaon, extravagant, vibrant, over sized
- look exspensive and more fancy than casual
- over the top - excessive, more than they needed to be practical.
- head pieces to match, wigs
- both genders are the top outfits/wigs/make-up
- practical - sutiable for fighting
- jackets, boots, shirts, long pants
- colours that will match surroundings - help them hide
- tells us about the climate in the arena
- not going far as not much
Effect on viewer
- think they are poor because clothes are out dated - peacekeepers and effie in new clothes
- think it is bad living - emotionless, all the colour has been drained
- think they are rich / greed - have more than us
- fasion is shocking / scary to viewer - in your face
- show us how schocked / different things are for katniss and peta
- feels like they are dressed for war / hunting - all dressed same uniform
- all look same - everyone has the same advantage
- makes us less emotionally attached to individuals
Director purpose 
- show the comparison / juxta position of the district and the capital
- shows theme 'rich vs poor' because district dosent have accsses to resourses like new clothing
- again shows us theme 'rich vs poor' - the people in capital live in extreme luxury compared to the poverty of district 12
- people in the capital have everything
THEME - rich vs poor - everyone is finally equal so personal skills become important
               - struggle for power - tributes are under the power of the capital, they have no freedom / free will at this point
Other techniques 
- make - up - style = status, effes eye lashes are big and pink and her face is white. the district has no make - up access or need for it.
- make - up - over the top - caked on so we know they have lots
- men and women both ear it
- setting - concrete, metal, glass, clean, crisp, futuristic, technilogically advanced

DTE Reflecttion

I missed out on quite alot of work cause of my attendance but i really enjoyed making games and learning how to do it. I love being able to make my own story about the game that ive made. I liked learning how to choose the own path that i could learn.  I will not be continuing doing dte next semester but i did enjoy it. I got asigned to doing things like scratch and gamefroot. I didnt really get any of it done because of how much I wasnt here but I enjoyed it and had fun while I was doing it.
