Home Economics.

In home economics we were talking about hygiene and what we do while we are cooking.

Here are some of the ways we can be hygienic during cooking time and some of the rules that we have to follow:

The definition of hygiene means reaching the expectations of being clean... for example with cooking:

- Washing hands before starting your project.
- Having your hair tied back.
- Wearing an apron while cooking/baking.
- Wearing covered in shoes while cooking.
- Making sure no jewelry on around hands.
- Not having any nail polish on.
- Dont play around with earings, hair while in the process of cooking.
- If you are sick, dont handle food as it could risk getting other pupils sick.
- No hanging clothes, as in sleeves, jackets ect that can touch the food.

Now here are 7 food and safety tips:
1. Make sure food is in the right area.
2. Wash fruit and vegetables before use of food.
3. Be sure to check the best before date on the food packets, containers ect.
4. Do not leave food out after finishing project.
5. Dont use or eat off food thats exspired.
6. Store the raw meat.
7. Make sure that your cooking surface is clean.

After we did this we had to make a stick man with all the food and safety hygiene tips on it pointing to each part of the body where the tip is around.

Here is a picture of mine:
